Nextlaw Labs and Nextlaw Ventures have had an amazing partnership with Legal Geek over the past couple of years.
It started with our sponsorship of the epic Legal Geek Road Trip #LGroadtrip through Europe in 2017 to scout high potential legal tech startups. Among the amazing startups that we met along the various stops of the road trip—Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Paris and London—20 were selected to receive travel grants to attend the Legal Geek Conference in London in Oct of 2017. The following year, we teamed up with Legal Geek again for the Around the World Tour in 2018. This time meeting with high-potential legal tech startups worldwide across five legal tech hubs: Moscow, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, San Francisco and London. The top startup from the tour LawSwitch received a travel grant to attend the Legal Geek conference in 2018. “Legal Geek is putting on some of the best conferences in the legal tech industry right now.” said Dan, “I’m very proud of the partnership we have built over the years and am excited to meet the rest of the community at the first Legal Geek Conference in North America.”
“Three years ago I pitched the idea to Nextlaw Labs of driving a 1972 VW camper van (called Betty) around Europe to meet the coolest LawTech startups.” said Jimmy Vestbirk, Founder of Legal Geek, “Since then we have worked closely with Nextlaw Labs and Ventures to engage, understand and scope the best talent globally for LawTech, visiting 10 countries.
